Every Tuesday between 2:00 – 2:30 PM a group of about eleven volunteers gather at Church of the Lakes, a United Methodist Church on Fulton Road, to cut and package 160 pounds of hamburger, which is bought in bulk quantity from a local distributor. Each section is cut, weighed, and carefully wrapped for delivery to Canton Calvary Mission every week. This meat is very important to the clients who receive it each Wednesday during pantry day and is greatly appreciated.
According to Andy Jacobs, this “meat ministry” was started in August of 2005 by Rusty Miller, a local accountant, and has continued ever since.
As you can imagine, the cost of buying 160 pounds of beef every week can get very expensive, but God has truly blessed this ministry by putting it on the hearts of people to give to this meat mission. Please help us continue to keep this important mission funded.
If you would like to give to the Canton Calvary Mission Meat Mission you can send your tax-deductible donation to:
Church of the Lakes
5944 Fulton Dr.
Canton, OH 44718
Please make the check payable to Church of the Lakes, but in the memo section please indicate it’s for the CCM Meat Mission.
